Our family of local farms supports a high animal welfare program and sustainable farming practices.
At Morden’s Farm, our mission is promoting a healthy lifestyle with healthy eating.
Owner Sandy Morden remembers what it was like growing up on a 200 acre dairy farm..
"We grew all our own feed for the animals, the old fashioned way. After Sandy left school she pursued a career in the accounting field, which in hindsight provided a great foundation for being self employed. She also began to study nutrition while attending a private college in Mississauga. Sandy has spent 20 years bringing the two together, for the benefit of her loyal customer base. For personal health reasons, Sandy has maintained a gluten-free and dairy-free diet for over two decades.
Sandy is devoted to producing product lines of superior quality. She has handpicked a small group of local farmers who share that devotion to raising livestock, the old fashioned way, with methods that strictly control the feed and environment of the animals. Sandy visits the farms to ensure her strict standards are being met. Nutri Springs Farms Ltd. and Morden’s Organic Farmstore operate off a beautiful heritage farm located in Ontario’s famous greenbelt, a large section of land designated as farmland.
We have supplied health food markets/stores for 25 years with Nutri Spring Farms trademarked products. See the list of stores in your area that carry our product on our products page.
Determined to carry on the healthy tradition of this natural real estate tradition, Sandy is constantly looking to increase the viability of the farm while maintaining its agricultural heritage (6 generations). A handful of select farms have joined the venture. In the year 2000, we opened a small country store on the farm to service the local area and called it Morden’s Organic Farmstore.
More than just meat
It isn’t just the meat, fish & poultry that keeps our customers coming back. At Morden’s farm kitchen we produce a host of products.
Under the Birch Tree food trademark we produce an extensive line of freshly baked organic granola breakfast cereal, gluten free granola and a line of all purpose gluten free flour, formulated to convert 1:1 for regular wheat flour, using your favourite recipes.
Also, we have a selection of jams, preserves, fruits, maple syrup and honeys, and cheese, butter, eggs (chicken, duck, goose, turkey), yogurt and kefir. In the farmstore we serve organic ice cream in organic waffle cones. Our certified 3 acre organic gardens produce a great selection of fruits and vegetables in season. We are excited about our large strawberry crop in June. Other berries and grapes to follow.
Our pasture raised, organically fed chicken and duck eggs are from our own farm.
It's always fun to visit our mini barn to see the animals.
Check out our kidzone page for more pictures and details.
